KAISHAN GROUP İZBAŞ VISIT

The senior executives of China-based Kaishan Group, one of the world’s largest compressor manufacturers operating in 28 countries, met in İzmir after deciding to invest in the İzmir Free Zone (İZBAŞ). The 42-person delegation, including Kaishan Group Chairman Cao Ke Jian, Vice Chairman Hu Yizhong, Head of Overseas Operations Cui Feng, and Kaishan USA CEO Dave George, visited the factory site to be constructed on a 20,000 square meter area in İZBAŞ.

Cao Ke Jian and the Kaishan delegation were hosted by Chairman of the Board İZBAŞ and the Board Members Eyüp Sevimli, They also visited İzmir Free Zone Manager Ahmet Toprak and Customs Director Mehmet Salih Arık at their offices.

“WE WANT TO CONTINUE INVESTING IN İZBAŞ”

During his visit, Cao Ke Jian, who provided detailed information about the Kaishan investment, stated that the company, which is preparing to build its third factory outside of China in İZBAŞ, intends to source the equipment it will need after starting production from Turkey. Emphasizing that they wish to continue investing in İZBAŞ in accordance with Turkish laws and free zone regulations, Cao Ke Jian also mentioned that the first order from the İZBAŞ factory would come from Kaishan's production facilities in the United States.

Jian also noted that the company plans to invest in the geothermal energy sector, which holds great potential in Turkey, specifically in the districts of Salihli and Alaşehir in Manisa, as well as in Çanakkale, to drive its growth.

Kaishan Group Chairman Cao Ke Jian made the following statement:

 “Izmir has offered us a great opportunity for our operations in Turkey with its investment environment and magnificent climate. İZBAŞ, on the other hand, became our preferred choice due to its flawless infrastructure, professional team, proximity to port facilities, and access to employment resources. At our production facility in İZBAŞ, we will manufacture compressors for heavy industry companies and power plants. These compressors consist of hundreds of components. Our goal is to also produce these spare parts and components at İZBAŞ. With your support, we want to commission our factory before 2026. We are ready with our project, capital, and team. In the first phase, we will provide employment for over 200 people. With the factories we plan to establish for spare part production, we aim to increase this employment to 500 people. I would like to sincerely thank the İZBAŞ management on behalf of my team for the hospitality and support they have shown to the Kaishan team so far.”

“CHINESE COMPANIES' INTEREST IN TURKEY IS INCREASING”

İZBAŞ Chairman Eyüp Sevimli also pointed out that there has been an increase in the investment interest of Chinese companies in Turkey, stating that Kaishan’s investment in İZBAŞ is critically important in terms of its focus on exports and the added value it will create.

Adding that there has been a positive momentum in the investor interest towards İZBAŞ, which has reached over 90% occupancy, Sevimli mentioned that they are about to finalize a project that will increase the area allocated for investment in the region by 15% in the first phase.

Sevimli also stated that the foundation of the Kaishan investment will be laid in early 2025, and the goal is to complete it at an unprecedented speed before entering 2026. He made the following statement:

As İZBAŞ, we will continue to bring new investments focused on export and added value to our region by swiftly implementing our growth plans.”

During the visit, which was attended by members of the İZBAŞ Board of Directors, Kaishan Group Chairman Cao Ke Jian presented Eyüp Sevimli with a Chinese porcelain tea set, while Sevimli gifted his guest with a vase featuring the first world map created by Piri Reis.
