İzmir Free Zone (İZBAŞ) continues its efforts to bring new and planned investment areas to the city in the 100th year of the Republic..

İZBAŞ Chairman of the Board of Directors Eyüp Sevimli stated that “They see Menemen Free Zone, which gained legal personality with the Presidential decision published in the Official News Paper dated October 30, 2022, as an area of expansion for İZBAŞ” and said, “This land of 1 million 500 thousand square meters, which is our border neighbor, has become a legal entity. We are making all our plans to bring it into Izmir's economy. Hopefully, in 2023, we will bring a planned free zone worthy of the 100th anniversary of our Republic to our country and our city.” said.

In the December Ordinary Assembly Meeting of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO), Sevimli gave information to the industrialists from Izmir about the process and pointed out that it has become impossible to find industrial parcels for sale in many of the OIZs in the city, and that both free zones are close to full occupancy. Emphasizing that the need for new investment areas in all industrial zones has risen to the highest level, Sevimli noted that this is the most important problem of domestic and foreign investors who want to invest in the city, and industrialists who are considering capacity increase.

Pointing out that if the land neighboring İZBAŞ is opened to investors today, their existing infrastructure is capable of meeting the additional demand and meeting them with investors, Eyüp Sevimli, Chairman of the Board of Directors of İZBAŞ, made the following assessment:

“As you all know, our İzmir Free Zone is among the most important production centers of our city, with an area of 1 million 620 thousand square meters and an investment allocation area of 960 thousand square meters. We provide employment and food to more than 5 thousand people in our 187 companies. Our occupancy rate is 88%. Our treatment plant is ready. Our electricity and natural gas infrastructure is ready. We are 15 minutes away from the Northern İzmir Highway and half an hour away from İzmir center. We are 30 kilometers from Aliağa Nemrut ports and İzmir Alsancak Port. However, there is another feature that is at least as important as these. We have an error-free system, a strong structure and service staff consisting of professionals who can best understand the demands and expectations of our investors and produce proactive solutions quickly. We can build an expansion area with the concept of “Plug & Play”, of which there are many examples abroad, in a short time and offer it to your valuable industrialists. We wish to give these good news to all our export-oriented industrialists in the 100th anniversary of our Republic.”

Stating that he visited Yorgancılar regarding İZBAŞ's expansion plans and provided comprehensive information about all processes, Sevimli said, “I thank my Yorgancı Chairman, who we have served in our Chamber with pleasure for 13 years, because of the support İZBAŞ provided for the expansion area, with thank you very much.
