“FREE ZONE OPERATOR NO EXPERIENCE”
The land, which was put up for sale with the tender, was declared as a "free zone" in the Official Gazette, noting that the company that will be the owner of the land has to operate this land as a free zone operator, Sevimli said, made the following assessment: “Outside İZBAŞ, two of the three companies that entered the tender are building contractors, and the other it is seen that it is a company operating in the defense industry. Not aware of the free zones legislation, which is one of the most complex legislation of our country; not ready for this process with its financial structure, staff and institutional structure; Let alone managing a free zone, companies that have not even done business in a free zone can cause a great public loss, with a long-term perspective in this land it is possible to foresee that they will prevent domestic and foreign capital investments that want to invest.”
46 PERCENT UNDER RAMSAR LIMITATION
Eyüp Sevimli is a land of 1 million 501 thousand square meters, which is a "field" and does not carry out any agricultural activities. Within the scope of the International Ramsar Convention, 690 thousand square meters, which corresponds to 46 percent, reminded that it was a “constructed area”.

The part of the land to be used as a free zone is it is approximately 810 thousand square meters, which corresponds to 54 percent. This situation was notified and notified to all companies that purchased the tender specifications by the Municipality of Menemen against signature. The company that won the tender, by making an initiative before our Ministry of Commerce, must sign an Operational Agreement within one month in order to 'operate the land as a Free Zone'. In this challenging process, the financing structure, staff and being ready as an institutional structure; must not cause any public harm. Using the sense of responsibility of Mr. Menemen Mayor Aydın Pehlivan and the authority given to him by the law, we demand that the tender be canceled because the competitive environment and healthy price increase could not be achieved. If the tender is not cancelled, we will seek our legal rights in the Administrative Court.”
