İZBAŞ Met With Its Stakeholders

Speaking at the meeting held during the İZBAŞ 2019 Event, Eyüp Sevimli the president of the board, “Our trade volume, which was 208 million dollars in 2016, increased by 68 percent in 2017 and reached 351 million dollars. With this growth rate among all free zones in Turkey we were the first In 2017. In 2018, we increased by 40 percent to 500 million dollars. When we look at the first 6 months of this year, we experienced a 50 percent growth compared to last year. Our forecast was to grow by 30 percent in 2019 and to reach a trade volume of $ 650 million, but we think we will find $ 700 million, "he said.

“We are happy to be able to provide new job opportunities for our citizens in İzmir and especially around Menemen; With the commissioning of the facilities under construction, we anticipate more effective increases in our trade volume and employment in parallel.” He continued.

Eyüp Sevimli, President of the Board of Directors, said that with an investment of $ 885,500 in the İzmir Free Zone Wastewater Treatment Plant; they solved the odor problem that poses problems with neighboring Villakent residents.

Stating that the electrical infrastructure of the Zone was completely renewed with an investment of 3.5 million dollars, Sevimli said, “We have established a system which is fed from double sources and we can provide 24-hour uninterrupted control and supervision with SCADA system. With the new system in the event of a failure, we will be able to continue uninterrupted energy distribution to other users by isolating only the problem area."He said.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Board of Villakent Elele Association Kamuran Bakkal said, “İZBAŞ Management conveyed to our association when they have started the new project to eliminate the odor from the Wastewater Treatment Plant;  they shared with us the new treatment plant project that they intend to implement and answered all our questions in detail on the project grounds. ” BAKKAL stated that İZBAŞ officials provided them the opportunity to examine in the field during the process; thanked IZBAS officials for this open cooperation and hospitality.
